Shoot 3: understanding Exposure (At home)

UNDER EXPOSURE

OVER EXPOSED

LEARNINGS AND OBSERVATIONS:

For this assignment it was an upgrade to the first shoot where we were told to explore the different levels of exposures but also while practicing the compositions that we explored in the previous assignment.

This particular assignment made me realize that even the slightest change in the exposure creates a whole different mood for the subject and the background and changes the entire vibe of the photo. When we create a photograph in overexposure the details of the highlights become unclear and hazy while creating a photograph which underexposed to light, the shadows have unclear details.

For example shooting a landscape with lowest exposure gives a very somber and a kind of deep and reminiscent vibe of the photo as if the viewer is supposed to feel nostalgia after seeing the photo, but creating the same frame in over exposure gives it a mood of memory which is kind of unclear on the details but still gives a feeling of warmth.
