Shoot 4: Motion freeze (In class)
Motion Freeze
Shoot 4:
For this assignment we were briefed about what shutter speed is and how the motion can be captured depending on how we are using the shutter speed.
Shutter speed basically defines the amount of time the sensor of the camera is exposed to the light.
So there are two types, which is motion freeze and motion blur.
For this shoot, we were told to explore motion freeze and try to capture an activity where we would be able to freeze the motion or activity.
During this exploration I realized that as I increase my shutter speed from 1/80 throughout till 1/400, gradually the photographs become less exposed to light and thus eventually the photographs become dull as compared to the lower shutter speed. Another observation was that as I increased the shutter speed, I also had to make sure that I was quick to capture the movement, as the sensor is exposed for a smaller period of time.
One of the difficulties I faced was to incorporate the motion freeze as well a good composition. Another difficulty was to capture the activity at the right moment as I increased the shutter speed, I had to be quick.
