LEARNINGS AND OBSERVATIONS 

For this assignment, we were briefed to explore the lower range of the shutter speed, and how we can use it to show stillness and movement in the same frame. 
I tried to show a person who stands still and at the same time the people keep moving in the frame, which is the basic of idea of motion blur. 
I explored with shutter speed from the range of 1/30 till 10". 
I also learned that in the daylight, when the shutter speed used is above 3"2 seconds, the photograph comes out very highlighted and the details of those highlights are very unclear. So shooting the same scene at different times of the was seemed appropriate.

Shoot 1: Composition  Frame within Frame  Rule of thirds  LEARNINGS and OBSERVATIONS  At the beginning of the class we were first given a brief about what compositions are and what role they play in bringing together a visually appealing frame. We were told to explore two particular types of composition, which were Frame within frame and Rule of Thirds.  So frame within frame composition is not just about capturing a frame where another frame is being created,  but also creating a composition where the chosen subject is being captured through a frame which makes up the entire frame. Using this composition, when the subject is placed in a Frame within the frame which adds depth in the composition and becomes more inclusive of the viewer.  For rule of thirds, the basic rules are that the entire frame is divided into 9 equal sections and ideally we have to place our subject at one of the any 4 intersections of the grid. Shoot 2: Understanding exposure

Exposure  Under exposure:  Normal Exposure:  Over Exposure:  LEARNINGS AND OBSERVATIONS:  For this assignment it was an upgrade to the first shoot where we were told to explore the different levels of exposures but also while practicing the compositions that we explored in the previous assignment.  This particular assignment made me realize that even the slightest change in the exposure creates a whole different mood for the subject and the background and changes the entire vibe of the photo. When we create a photograph in overexposure the details of the highlights become unclear and hazy while creating a photograph which underexposed to light, the shadows have unclear details.  For example shooting a landscape with lowest exposure gives a very somber and a kind of deep and reminiscent vibe of the photo as if the viewer is supposed to feel nostalgia after seeing the photo, but creating the same frame in over exposure gives it a mood of memory which is ...
