Assignment 16: Observing Compositions

 

This is a scene from the Netflix original series "Wednesday". The frame has been composed in order to attempt a symmetrical composition where the subject is placed exactly in the center and to support the symmetry the gate at the back is mindfully placed exactly in the center of the frame. This draws attention to the subject and also adds value to the character of the subject. 

This is a scene from the movie "Tumbbad". It is clear that this scene is following the Composition Rule of thirds, where the subject is placed at the right top intersection and also, the frame overall is underexposed but to draw attention to the subject, red colored clothing is used for the subject. 

This is a scene from the Movie "Mona Lisa Smile" and again here rule of thirds is used to provide a sense of environment to the subject and also to understand the emotion on the subject's face. Here the subject has a melancholic expression as she misses her hometown in Christmas but she can't be there and she has to stay in this cold weather, which is conveyed correctly using Rule of thirds. 

This is a scene from the Netflix original series "Emily in Paris" where there are two types of compositions present in one frame. One is Rule of thirds which helps to provide  environment to the subject and another on is leading lines which adds depth of field in the frame. 

This is a Scene from the Movie "Barfi" where again there are two types of compositions present in the frame, that is, Leading lines and Rule of thirds which helps us understand the relationship between the two subjects and the kind of environment they are presented in. 

This is a scene from the Movie "Mona Lisa Smile". The frame has a Frame within Frame composition where the subject is looking out of the car window is bidding farewell happily which tells a lot about the fact that even if she is leaving, she is optimistic about her future.
